A very common cartridge in NZ and also branded by other companies as a 2HK-1 or WMRC1 cartridge. The picture shows the cartridge with some of its various labels as supplied in NZ. The supplied cartridge will have the sliver label as on the left.
The cartridge is a 2.5 inch diameter sealed unit which when installed under the sink, takes up very little space, and can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. Made in America, this cartridge is a high quality system, which removes a wide range of chemicals and heavy metals, while retaining the beneficial minerals in the water. The one micron mesh filter also removes very fine dirt and sediment and is effective at removing both Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts. The cartridge has a bacteriostatic nature which will allow the cartridge to remain hygienic for up to three years. In practice, most families need to replace the cartridge every 24 months to maintain a high quality water supply.
