Description

A Range of systems are available from Twin Filters to Triple Filters in both 10 and 20 Inch jumbo size as well as high flow carbon tanks.  Refer to the attached PDF file for explanation of options.

[Also see our other page for triple cartridge systems with pressure gauges and an ABS plastic cover.]

A single shower typically uses around 10 to 12 litres per minute which is the rated flow of most 10 inch Jumbo cartridges.  Although a 10 inch cartridge is commonly used in homes with low use, we do prefer to supply 20 inch jumbo systems where there are 2 showers,  or 3 or more people are in the home as the water flow performance is better and the cartridges last longer.  With double the cartridge size you can run a shower and turn on another tap and still have high removal and flow capacity from the cartridges.

It is recommended to use a sediment cartridge prior to the carbon cartridge to prevent the carbon cartridge from clogging with dirt, but not as essential if you know your water supply is clean.

We typically recommend using 5 micron Activated Carbon cartridges as they provide good filtration and water flows and will not slow down the water flow as finer 1 and 0.5 micron cartridges will.  With a 1 micron sediment cartridge in front of the carbon filter, the carbon filter will stay clean and can work at maximum efficiency to remove the chemicals and chlorine.

 Options are

  1. Single 20 inch Jumbo ( No pre filter)
  2. Twin 20 inch Jumbo
  3. Triple 10 inch Jumbo   ( See notes below)
  4. Triple 20 Inch Jumbo
  5. Standard cartridges are Activated carbon.  The option of adding KDF media will also reduce heavy metals such as lead.
  6. Cation Exchange resin in the third cartridge to soften the water and reduce scale
  7. Actival Resin in the third cartridge to reduce fluoride.
  8. Neutralizing media in the third cartidge to reduce acidity and raise the pH of the water

Pressure Limiting Valve

A pressure limiting valve is essential to protect the filter casings from cracking under high pressure. Most newer homes have one fitted but older homes may not. Please either order one with the kit or ensure you plumber checks to see if one is required during installation. The casings are rated to 90 psi or 600 kpa.

Wall Bracket options

Twin and Triple Brackets are supplied as standard made from powder coated steel.  Stainless Steel  Twin brackets and Powder Coated Aluminum triple brackets for wet outdoor installation are available as an option.

The single casing bracket is supplied as Stainless Steel.

Triple 10 inch system with cover and pressure guages

The Triple system with plastic cover comes standard with a powder coated steel bracket. but we have Powder Coated Aluminium brackets available as an option for installation in marine or beach areas. Please see the separate listing for this product if you want an outdoor bracket

High Flow Carbon Purifer Tanks

For high use or high flow situations please refer to our separate  page on these options. Tanks are availble for situations with water flows from 15 to above 100 lites per minute.
